Melissa moved to Waco this year, although she has visited for many years for Baylor football games. She graduated from Texas A&M in 2000 and worked as a consultant before becoming a stay at home mom to her two sons. She worked for more than 5 years in a Children’s Day Out program, teaching a classroom of four year olds, before earning her alternative certification. She taught in Friendswood ISD as a 5th grade English and Social Studies teacher before moving to Waco. Teaching is her passion and she loves helping others learn, no matter what their age.
Melissa believes each child was created uniquely and perfectly. She enjoys discovering the personality of each person and meeting the individual needs to match accordingly. She creates a warm and supportive environment for her students, while encouraging each student to do their personal best.
In her free time, Melissa loves to grow things - flowers, plants, vegetables, animals, and people. She also enjoys photography and traveling the world. But her favorite pastime is enjoying being present in the life of her two college boys who attend Baylor University.
