History
The Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development is named for philanthropists Paul and Katy Piper, from whom Baylor University purchased the current building and property in 1996. The Pipers are well-known for their charitable giving throughout the southern United States through their foundations, Christ is Our Salvation and Christian Mission Concerns. Many elements of the Piper Center’s present-day mission statement harken back to the Pipers’ legacy of advocating for inclusive, faith-based education and care for young children.
